Work Packages
The ANCILE research programme is structured into six complementary work packages, covering framework development, experimentation, AI innovation, dissemination, and governance.
WP1 – ANCILE Framework
Design and implementation of the ANCILE Proof-of-Concept architecture, integrating probabilistic reasoning, service-oriented design, ontology modeling, and continuous integration in a containerized environment.
WP2 – Adversarial Experiments
Construction of realistic cyber-range simulations and attacker–defender experiments to quantitatively evaluate the framework under game-theoretic settings.
WP3 – Attack Detection
Development of hybrid detection models combining Deep Neural Networks (DNN), Tangled Program Graphs (TPG), and probabilistic rule-based systems (CLAPPS), enabling interpretable and robust anomaly detection.
WP4 – Planning & Plan Recognition
Implementation of probabilistic adversarial plan recognition and decision-theoretic hierarchical planning to anticipate attacks and generate optimal mitigation strategies.
WP5 – Dissemination & Impact
Scientific dissemination, stakeholder engagement, open-science compliance, and alignment with market needs to ensure long-term societal and industrial impact.
WP6 – Project Management
Technical coordination, quality assurance, risk management, ethical compliance, and innovation management ensuring effective and sustainable project execution.
